Last year we went to the beautiful Andaz, Pattaya, Jomtien Beach Resort, to discover what was on offer at their Village Butcher restaurant. If you missed our review of their “Off the Grill” Sunday lunch buffet.

This time on our return trip to this stunning resort, we decided to take a stroll through the exquisitely landscaped gardens to their beachside restaurant:Fish club. In an idyllic setting for sundowners by the pool, this restaurant has seating available al fresco or inside. We opted for the latter as we wanted to make full use of the air conditioned seating.

Although they have options other than fish, for example Whole Grilled Baby Chicken and Grilled Pork Collar, what is special here is the locally caught and freshly grilled seafood. I also like how you can choose to have your oysters as single, 3 piece or 6 piece options. Or if Oysters aren’t your thing then the Tuna Tacos are well worth a try. With Japanese tuna,lime,crushed avocado, sour cream and “Asian slaw” this light bite will certainly activate your taste buds ready for the main event.

For us, the main event consisted of crab pasta which was pleasantly spicy with clams and saffron and the star of our show: Phad Thai Goong Mang Gon! This tasted as good as it looked with a half grilled Boston lobster, stir-fried rice noodles,peanut and lime. Declared to be “the best Pad Thai I have ever tasted” by my colleague.
