TOP OF THE GULF REGATTA 30TH APRIL – 4TH MAY 2016 AT OCEAN MARINA

Ocean Marina in Najomtien is famous for International events and The Top of the Gulf Regatta will host the Thailand Optimist National Championships, the prestigious Platu Coronation Cup and for the RS:One Asian Championship in a four-day celebration of sailing and water sports. The organizers expect more than 600 participants from over 30 countries for some exhilarating sailing across 12 classes and the standard of competition is expected to be high.

“Since its beginning in 2005, the Top of the Gulf Regatta has grown to become the largest sailing event of its kind in Asia, attracting hundreds of sailors from far and wide to enjoy the great sailing Pattaya offers. The regatta showcases the Gulf of Thailand's marine assets and on-water beauty, which combined with the hospitality and waterside lifestyle provided by Ocean Marina makes it a highlight event in the regional calendar,” said Mr. Scott Finsten, Harbour Master, Ocean Marina.

“We are expecting a large number of boats from around Thailand and overseas to come and compete at the Top of the Gulf Regatta this year. With many boats coming from outside the area the regatta contributes approximately 15 to 20 million Thai Baht to the local economy through travel and accommodation revenues, as well as promoting Pattaya and the larger region world-wide,” commented Mr. Finsten.
