Sugar Hut in The Pattaya Trader
Reassuringly traditional but with an eye to the future Sugar Hut should be on your list of places to visit in Pattaya.

Just by the Pratumnak traffic lights on Thappraya Road you will find the entrance to Sugar Hut. It's a wonderful boutique resort that has offered a harmonious retreat from the hustle and bustle of Pattaya since 1984.
Set in idyllic surroundings, visitors can stay in one of the charming, traditional villas, enjoy the use of 3 different swimming pools and eat in its award winning restaurant. With a chef who has been with the Sugar Hut some 30 years now, you can be sure that the Thai Food you sample here will be authentic, genuine fare, never fusion or Thai dishes amended to Western tastes. Certainly it’s the place to come if you want to eat Thai food as it should be enjoyed in a lovely setting with traditional Thai music being gently played and surrounded by the lush green of a myriad different trees and plants from all over the world. Children will also delight in the parrots and peacocks that roam the grounds and at night the whole place is even more magical, lit by the resort’s beautiful soft lighting.
Sugar Hut is the enduring love of Dr Sunya, known to many as the owner of Pattaya International Hospital . He can name you each of the amazing trees planted at the resort and tell you from which country they originate and is certainly not a man to let the grass grow under his feet! Constantly renovating and upgrading you can see the beautiful natural teak floor at the centre of the restaurant that will gradually be introduced throughout the entire resort.
In a time of medical tourism when it has become popular for people to visit Pattaya in order to combine a medical procedure with a holiday the resort is ideally placed, conjoined as it is with Pattaya International hospital to offer a complete package and the perfect place for rest, recuperation and relaxation. Perhaps for a well needed detox or to enjoy Yoga or Pilates by the pool? Certainly Dr Sunya is at the forefront of every anti ageing procedure and extremely knowledgeable as to the processes we should all be adopting to lead a healthy life in our latter years.
However, If the atmosphere down the slope is one of calm and relaxation then further up towards the main road there is far more busy activity where preparations are well underway for “Sunsabella”. Rather charmingly named after Sun (Dr Sunya) Sa (Samak his father) and Bella ( Isabella his mother) this will be a new addition to the resort opening next year, It will include a Jazz pit to feature live, open air music and have a great Thai food and bakery. In fact for those of you who are fans of PIC Kitchen you will already know what to expect as the whole place will be moving here to its new home - traditional Thai buildings and all, to continue offering customer delicious Thai and Western food
Watch this space because Pattaya Trader will be peeking through the bushes to keep an eye on the progress of this exciting project.
