It was a fine day with a cooling breeze at Pattaya Country Club on December 6^th for the combined November/December Diana Seniors & Ladies Open. The leading scores were in the high thirties and included a Hole-in-One on the Par 3 Fifth by Hans Jacobsson. His overall Stableford points score was not high, but the hole-in-one and the longest put on the Ninth was consolation enough.

Birgitta Luning was best of the day for the Ladies with 36 points and Pootida Phanchai (Noi) runner- up with 34 points.

Stuart Gray returned 38 points to win the Senior’s and Alan Ainsworth was close behind with 36 points. Best of the day came from Tom Breslin with 39 Stableford points to win the Super Seniors followed by the inevitable and ailing Ed Trayling’s score of 37 points.

The other technical holes were claimed by Birgitta Luning, Alan Pearce and Brian Mills had both near pins on #12 and #16.

The new, largely seasonal, faces were welcomed in the form of Hans & Gerd Jacobsson, Su & Rich Murphy, Alan Ainsworth, Glen Riding, Brian Kirton, Stuart Gray, Richard Whittington, Brian Mills, Jim Webb, Ulf & Kerstin Ahland, Lars & Fia Lindros and Nils Jansson. Returning faces included David & Joyce Jones, Cecil Williams, Mike Corner and Tom Breslin.

Thursday January 24^th is the first outing in 2008, so best wishes to all for Christmas and the New Year. Finally, congratulations again to Hans Jacobsson for his Hole-in-One – a shot on the 5^th hole he won’t forget!
