The I-Rovers punches well above its weight

A sports bar in Pattaya is hardly unique, but a well-run sports bar in Pattaya really is. The city is literally awash with bars of all shapes, sizes, and styles, yet the vast majority rarely rise above the mediocre to average. To really succeed in the tough Pattaya entertainment market you need to be good, very good, and the I-Rovers is arguably one of the best in Fun Town.

sport barI-Rovers is situated in the heart of LK Metro, with an outside terrace area and fully air-conditioned and well stocked bar, and a friendly staff who aim to make your time at the I-Rovers as enjoyable as possible.

The bar began under the name Irish Rovers, but after more than seven successful years has undergone a re-branding, hence the catchy name I-Rovers.

I-Rovers has 17 large HD TV’s and a projector and more satellite feeds than any other sports bar in Pattaya.

They show live English Premiership games, Championship games, every Celtic and Rangers game, plus NFL, UFC, Rugby, Cricket and Formula 1…plus much much more; it’s the next best thing to actually being at the game.

Basically, if it’s on TV anywhere in the world and it’s worth watching, it’ll be shown inside the I-Rovers. As Simon, the owner, says, “If we can’t show it, nobody else can”.

The I-Rovers is also well known for their Party Nights, Golf Days out and a weekly bar crawl to Bang Chang. So, whether you’re a first-time visitor or a regular you can’t help but love the atmosphere at The I-Rovers.

I-Rovers have something on every night; they have darts and pool teams, who have amassed an impressive amount of trophies over the last few years and the I-Rovers football team is starting to make a name for itself. There’s also a Quiz League team who always perform above and beyond expectations.

Whilst well-known for its sports, I-Rovers is probably just as well-known for its 99-baht buster breakfast, with people flocking from all over Pattaya to enjoy the traditional English Breakfast. If you need a kick-start to your day, then make sure you try one, but be early as they sell over 100 breakfasts a day a day plus their Sunday Lunches at 199 baht take some beating! Upstairs at the I-Rovers is a finely-appointed guesthouse with three types of air-conditioned rooms from what they term the superior balcony to standard. Prices are very reasonable and include free WiFi, a fully stocked mini-bar, safe, tea and coffee-making facilities, and daily maid service.

It’s not all take either. Simon and son Josh also put a lot back into the community, raising money for local charities. Recently they got involved with the Legacy of Legends Charity and had the FA Cup and the European Cup on display, where customers could have their photo taken with these iconic trophies and raise money for worthwhile charities in Thailand.

I-Rovers is also a prominent sponsor of the Pattaya City Football Club. In February, in conjunction with the Trader, the I-Rovers sponsored Pattaya City FC on a trip into Buriram where they donated cash and sporting equipment to a local underprivileged school.

Early this year legendary darts player and world champion Phil ‘The Power' Taylor visited the I-Rovers and spent the whole evening playing customers and signing autographs. Over 50,000 baht was raised for charity on the night!

Former snooker world championship finalist (an amazing six times) Jimmy White is often a regular at the bar when he is in Thailand and is always ready to help raise money for Thai children.

So, with the new signs outside and a new name, plus the addition of yet more HD giant TV's to watch all your sport, the I-Rovers really is the NO.1 Sports Bar in Pattaya.
