Royal Cliff and PEACH Host Star-Studded 23rd Subhanahongsa National Film Awards
The Royal Cliff Hotels Group with its flagship, the award-winning Pattaya Exhibition And Convention Hall hosted Thailand’s biggest movie stars and A-list celebrities in the spectacular 23rd Subhanahongsa Thailand National Film Association Awards organized by the Federation of Thai Film Producers on 23 February.
The Awards night under the theme "Star of The Ocean” kicked off with red carpet arrivals and star-studded interviews outside PEACH. Following a relaxed and elegant cocktail reception, the exclusive invitation-only nationally acclaimed event featured electrifying performances and a glamorous attendance of media representatives, invited VIP guests, movie stars and celebrities such as Mai Davika, Saipan Apinya, Gypso Ramita, Nadech Kugimiya, Boy Pongsathorn, Mike Pirath, Aom Sushar, Joke So Cool, Hay Arpaporn, Ter Chantavit, Tono Pakin, Kao Jirayu, Kao Supassra and Pan Pan Supatta who graced the sensational event with their presence. It was a sensational night of recognition, glamour and entertainment!
This year’s Awards introduced a new judging system that is designed to reflect the opinion of those in the industry and the press along with those of the traditional jury. Indie Films dominated over box-office leaders with the movie “ Mary is Happy, Mary is Happy” winning 4 Golden Swan Awards for Best leading Actress, Best Supporting Actress , Best Cinematography and Best in Film Editing. Another Indie movie, “Tang Wong”, won the Best Picture Award with the Best Actor and Best Actress Awards going to popular soap star, Mr. Nadech Kugimiya for his role in “Khoo Kam” and Miss. Patcha Poonpiriya for her starring role in the movie “Mary is Happy, Mary is Happy”.

The Subhanahongsa Awards is Thailand’s equivalent to the Oscars and is considered the highest recognition for Thai Film industry professionals. It was named after the Golden Swan, the trophy statuette modeled after the mythical swan that adorns the bow of the Royal Barge Suphannahongse.
