TRIP TO KOH SICHANG
“After our morning coffee, we hopped onto a tram-car to travel up to Thaa Wang, a Chinese Temple located in a cave. From there we headed down the steps to Khao Noi View Point followed by a yummy ice cream cone.
The Rama V Palace was next, built as a summer retreat for King Chulalongkorn it was abandoned in 1893 when the French occupied the Island. The King converted some buildings into convalescent homes for Thais and foreigners but it is still a beautiful site and we could understand how it would be ideal for a royal retreat.
We stopped at Haad Tham Phang Beach for a very affordable lunch and a quick snooze, swim or stroll before we headed to the pier to catch the ferry back to Sri Racha. The trip was well organized and everyone enjoyed the day.
Recently a most successful coffee morning was held at La Ferme Resturant,
The first organised by the new Chair of Hospitality Violette Gauthie, who did a sterling job. The event also included five new new members who 'signed up' on the day and a most interesting presentation on the work of the Mercy Centre to whom Helle (the President) gave a cheque for their 2016 scholarship fund.
The food was excellent and included such delicacies as mini Panini ham and cheese sandwiches, Parma ham and melon and shrimps and tomato salsa rocket. Along with a constant supple of coffee and tea there was a delightful array of cakes including mini almond croissants, blue berry cheese tarts and chocolate brownies. All in all a great time was had by everyone.
“Why not visit the newcomers coffee morning every last Monday of the month from 11 am in Restaurant Casa Pascal”
