Welcome to Pattaya Bargain Hunter, my name is Belinda and before living in Pattaya I was a buyer in London’s West End.  An important part of my job was to look out for items of quality, value and with that certain special something. Now I look out for bargains in and around Pattaya to share with you. To follow this month’s Nightlife theme I thought I’d share some of my favourite evening  specials with you:
Centara Pratumnak
Happy hours come and go and there are many offers that focus on Sundown special offers – I have tried a few and can honestly say that for the quality of cocktails served and its very excellent location the Centara Pratumnak’s offer of “Freeflow cocktails or wine” between the hours of 5pm and 7 pm for 500 baht is my favourite. Another goody from them is the Friday evening at The Breeze deal that again for a one off 500 baht price gives you a whole bottle of wine with a cheese plate and tapas.
Or you may want to admire the views of Pattaya Bay from their rooftop on the  34th floor where from again the magic sunset hours of 5-7pm you can take advantage of their buy 1 get 1 free on selected cocktails. That said I’m afraid this promotion may well be a victim of its own success and certainly on the evening I went the view was certainly better than the drinks!
Sunset Lounge at Hotel Baraquda
Not quite so high but still offering lovely sunset views is the Sunset Lounge at Hotel Baraquada. It’s a little farther down 2nd road from The Hilton (just after The Avenue) and also has the buy one get one cocktail special between 5-7 pm.
However if you want to try having an evening out that does not involve wining and dining (quite a challenge in Pattaya) then how about getting a group together to have a night out at one of the Bowling venues around town. Not as expensive as you might think if for example you arrive before 6 pm at Central Festival its only 120 baht per person with just 50 baht for the obligatory footwear,
Or how about “A night at the Movies”! There are some excellent blockbusters out at the moment that really deserve to be seen on the big screen either with or without 3D. Bargain Hunter of course likes going on a Wednesday when you can take advantage of all the usual comforts on offer any other day of the week but only pay 120 Baht at SFX on the 6th floor of Central or even more amazingly just 80 baht at Major Cinema. The Avenue.
However a word to the wise the price of admission may be far cheaper than prices “back home” but the snacks on offer are catching up as being over inflated and without careful planning may well be the most expensive part of your evening.
BRONX PIZZA – Soi Diana
If you just fancy a little “snack” after all these activities there are of course many, many pizza outlets around town – its amazing to see just how many have sprung up in recent years. However at Bronx Pizza on Soi Diana there are some great offers:
1 slice 70baht
2 slices 99baht,
Or if you can manage their 18” pizza – enough to feed the whole family 420 baht
Have a great night out !
