One of the great attractions of Vientiane is that there are no great attractions. The Lao capital serenely lacks the “must-see-must-do” icons that cities these days feel increasingly obliged to boast about.
“Venice of the East”, “the Big Mango” and so on. Over the years Bangkok has been lumbered with several farang-concocted sub-titles, none of which Thais use.
The Hana Highway, Hawaii’s most beautiful drive, is making a fool of me. This tenacious, twisting road clings to the northeast coast of the island of Maui for 100 dramatic kilometres and on its way crosses 59 bridges and winds through 620 bends.It starts from the sugar-and-surf town of Pa’ia on the north shore, heading towards Hana village out on the eastern tip of Maui.

So named I discovered, because of its large size rather than the fact that there are elephants on the island - although elephants there are and the occasional traffic stopping monkey !
Thailand’s mother river, the Maenam Chao Phraya loops like a signature through the landscape, scrawling as it goes the history of the kings of Siam and their serial capitals, Sukhothai, Ayutthaya and today’s Krung Thep.
Thailand has 2700 km of shoreline and miles of isles. Try skipping the major moshpits like Phuket and head for a few of these islands where taxis and bucket booze don’t yet define “paradise”.

Growing up, my family and I ate take out Chinese food at least 3 times per month. My mother would send me to this tiny little shack next to a strip-mall called Moon Palace and I’d pick up various sundry bags filled with those cool little takeout Chinese food cartons.
New Nordic's Kong Juu Restaurant had its official opening aptly on the 28th January 2017 Chinese New Year which heralded in The Year of the Rooster.

So almost one year on from my last interview with Dr Peter Lewis I found myself again at the the bright, light clinic within the grey building at the top of Soi 6 to ask him what has been happening at Surecell and in particular at the Pratumnak Clinic since last we met.
